How Pulse Laser Cleaning Works

Understand the science behind the most precise, safest, and cleanest surface preparation method available today.

The Science of Selective Ablation

Every material has a specific energy threshold called the ablation threshold. This is the amount of energy required to vaporise that material. Contaminants like rust, paint, and oxidation have a much lower ablation threshold than the base metals they sit on.

A pulse laser delivers short, powerful bursts of energy that exceed the ablation threshold of the contaminant but remain below the threshold of the base material. The result is that rust, paint, and grime are vaporised instantly while the underlying steel, aluminium, or alloy is left completely untouched.

This is not a heat-based process in the traditional sense. The laser pulses are so short (measured in nanoseconds) that the energy is absorbed and the contaminant is removed before any significant heat can transfer to the base material. This means no warping, no heat-affected zones, and no thermal damage.

Our Equipment

300W Pulse Laser System

Our system is built for versatility and precision. Here is what 300 watts of controlled pulse laser power can do.

300W Output

Sufficient power for heavy industrial rust and coating removal while maintaining precise control for delicate work.

Adjustable Power

Dial from 10% to 100% power to match the contaminant and substrate. Clean aluminium castings or strip heavy mill scale with the same machine.

Focused Beam

The laser beam can be focused to a precise area, allowing targeted cleaning of specific zones without affecting surrounding surfaces.

Non-Contact Process

The laser never physically touches the surface. No mechanical stress, no abrasion, no risk of deformation or material removal from the substrate.

Zero Consumables

No blasting media, no chemicals, no solvents. The only input is electricity. The only output is a clean surface and a small amount of dust.

Portable System

Our system is mobile and can be brought to your location. No need to transport heavy or large items to a workshop for cleaning.
